Just last week was the biggest book exhibition in the world: Frankfurt Book Fair. Today started the Finnish equivalent to this: Helsingin Kirjamessut.

This is the biggest literature related annual event in Finland. The most famous writers are lecturing side by side with newcomers, while the publishing houses will present their new productions and make deals with retailers, translators and other publishers from all over the world. And of course fans have the opportunity to see their idols face to face.

The list of presenters is imposing. Perharps the most well-known foreigner author is Ruth Rendell, beloved detective novel writer.
