Last year Google shocked librarians and publishers all over the world with its new Library Project. Google intended to scan millions of pages of literature and make it available on line.
In April, nineteen European national libraries (amongst them Finland) joined their forces against a planned communications revolution by the Internet search giant to create a global virtual library. Also publishing companies found the activity violating copyright law.
Now the initiative is put on ice and Google is rewriting the description of its Library Project.
