The word goes that heads will start to roll around the White House any day now, figuratively speaking.

The reason for this assumption is the noise coming out of Washington about the progress of the investigation around Valerie Plame.

The Story
Back in the days before the US invaded/liberated Irak, it was gathering military intelligence to prove that Irak was secretly working on 'Weapons of Mass Destruction'.

One (not so) fine day, the Bush-boys pulled a rabbit out of a hat, which stated that Niger had delivered uranium to Irak.

Valerie's husband, the American Diplomat Joseph Wilson III, knew it wasn't so. And he wasn't afraid to say it out loud, either.

Joseph questioned the evidence in the strongest way possible to him.

But not everybody around Cheney and Bush could appreciate his honesty.

Then some people from the Bush-clan, who probably have lemons for breakfast every day, whispered to a couple of loyal White-House journalists that Valerie was a CIA-agent.

And that blew Valerie's cover. The press doggedly published the information it was given.




You should know that in the US, reveiling the name of an operative CIA-agent is punishable by law for up to ten years of prison sentence.

And just now it has turned out that one of those 'wispering-people' was Lewis "Scooter" Libby. Chief of Staff of none other than... Vice President Dick Cheney.

The question is whether Scooter was speaking on his own account or if he was told to do so. And if so, what will happen next?

WAR
The "proof" that Irak was building an Atom Bomb was part of the inflated package of intelligence that made the US and the UK declare WAR on Irak.

In exactly the same way Hitler invaded Poland in 1939. But then again, what else could one expect if the riches of your family are filled with Nazi-cash?

And that brings us to where we want to be. Many governments of other countries found it neccessary to also go to WAR.

Based on the same evidence, so covered by the same package of lies.

And all too quickly they lined up, with a few exceptions.

And that is why we must continue to think for ourselves. Not to believe every pre-packed sausage of information that we recieve from TV or Newspaper.

That is why we blog.

Update: President Bush just announced that Harriet Miers, his former private laywer and close personal friend from Texas, will be appointed as the new Surpreme Court Judge.

Just last year he appointed her also, that time as Counsel of the president.

Miers studied law at the Southern Methodist University and is, in President Bush's own words a 'Pitbull with shoesize 36'.
