Tour beer around the world in two days (press release)

The Leading Beer Festival in Finland

The next Helsinki Beer Festival will be held on April 7 and 8, 2006. Over the past nine years the Festival has by far and large become the leading beer, cider, and whisky festival in Finland with increasing foreign attendance and interest. Helsinki Beer Festival will be held at the Cable Factory in central Helsinki.

Helsinki Beer Festival is both a trade fair and a public festival. On Friday afternoon April 7 admission will be strictly to trade only. This will be for purchase managers, other trade buyers, restaurant managers and staff, and media. Admission will be limited to visitors with Helsinki Beer Festival invitation cards sent out by exhibitors. You cannot purchase a ticket at the door for the trade fair.

On Friday night, April 7 and all day Saturday, April 8 Helsinki Beer Festival will be open to both trade visitors and the general public. Tickets will be available in advance, and at the door.
In addition to beer Helsinki Beer Festival features ciders and whiskies. In the evenings there will be live music from top Finnish bands, and you can strengthen yourself at different food stands.

Beers, ciders, and whiskies can be sampled in small or larger tasting measures. Fans of Single Malts can also find new Finnish Single Malt arrivals.

Beers from around the world will be the special theme at Helsinki Beer Festival in 2006. The special theme always creates special interest among the visitors and media. You will be able to taste beers from Asia to South America, Africa and the Caribbean, Australia to Soviet Union, and from Palestine to the Pacific Ocean. Yes, you can make a real beer tour around the world in two days under the same roof!

But please don’t forget the hundreds of different beers from different European countries and North America. Or the fascinating Finnish microbrews.

Helsinki Beer Festival 2006 will once again feature the popular beer, cider, and whisky competitions. The year’s best beverages will be tasted blind by professional judges in different categories.

Helsinki Beer Festival is sponsoring the Beer Bar of the Year Award. This is a new award for Finnish bars, and the winner in 2006 is St. Urho’s Pub in Helsinki. They will have their own stand at the Festival.

Over the years Helsinki Beer Festival has had the honour of hosting international beer celebrities like Michael Jackson, Garrett Oliver, and Conrad Seidl. This spring they will be joined by the highly acclaimed Canadian beer writer Stephen Beaumont.

New! The official Helsinki Beer Festival hotel in the brand new Holiday Inn Helsinki City West. The hotel is located only a short walking distance from the Cable Factory. The special room price is 87 euros per night (single or double room), including buffet breakfast, sauna, and service charge. This special offer is valid between April 6 and April 9. Please book you room(s) directly at the hotel: mette.kuhavuori@restel.fi, or. Tel. +358-9-4152 1106.
